on August 9, 2014It’s on a stage against a screen with red gel up-lights between the screen and the dancers. My daughter is one of the dancers and after seeing this scene as an opening for a number I told her I wished I’d had my camera as I needed a silhouette image. She told me – “it’s easy” - to come the next day for rehearsal with my camera and they would re-create it for me. I setup the camera on the edge of the stage, the screen came down the lights came on, the girls posed, and I got the picture. The whole thing was less than 30 seconds from start to finish, and the image didn’t need any work in Photoshop.

on August 5, 2014Great silhouette - very striking with the red background and beautiful flow with the positions of the dancers

on August 4, 2014Grant, I find this image intriguing. I definitely like the red background and poses. Would like to know more about the setting.

on August 3, 2014A textbook example of a silhouette. Love the positions of the dancers both individually (arms, legs) and as a group. The black stage and colorful but not distracting backdrop add to the impact. Yes, tell us more about this shot.

on August 1, 2014Grant - tell us about where this was - a show? a set up shot? It is effective with the black 'stage' - and the motion on the skirt of the center dancer.
