on September 30, 2014Very cool indeed. I really like the stretch. Great work Ricky.

on September 29, 2014Very U-ish. Thanks for the processing info - that is very interesting to see how such a rich image is created. Cool subject too

on September 29, 2014Kent - since this was in my studio - and not easily accessible with the tripod, It was hand held in a darkish area.

on September 29, 2014I agree it has the feel of 'U' and I like the submission. Thanks for the list of processing steps--so much for me yet to discover. I would enjoy comparing this with a 'before' image. The ISO and focal length are higher than I would have guessed. Any particular reason?

on September 28, 2014Hanging on the wall in my studio is a slate with ancient ogham writing. The bottom half gave me the feel of a U - so I took a stab at it. The processing went like this. First, I made a duplicate layer. I solarized the original layer, bumped up the Vibrance on the duplicate layer and blended those with multiply mode. Then I went to HDR Efex Pro 2 to bring out details - it also brought out unexpected colors due to the solarization. Then I blended that with a texture overlay. Anyway - sort of a U I guess.
