on April 8, 2014Thanks Debbie and Ricky. I see what you mean Ricky about the boats in the upper right pulling your eye out and/or maybe distracting from the abandoned theme. I might play with this a bit and see how to lessen the focus on those boats and bring you back to the water filled boat.

on April 7, 2014Michael - it's perfect! The fact we can see the blooming lilies, not only the flooded boat, strengthens the feeling of abandonment. I'm not sure in my initial reaction to the visibility of the green boat right and the shadow of what might be a currently used boat in the upper right of walkway. There's two ways to look at that. 1. There's still life around, but not for this boat and 2. Not seeing them puts this is a vast emptiness.

on April 7, 2014Sorry had to post two this week. This is probably my favorite photo that I have ever taken in the town of Bomba in Beliz. I just feel like this image captured the mood of this tiny forgotten town of less than 100 people.
