on September 6, 2014I like this very much too. I do, however, like the colors. This color combination is one of my favorites. Again - you are creating a magical mood and whatever techniques you are using - you are using them very well. - I love the strong slight oblique created by the green trees.

on September 5, 2014Thanks so much for your feedback Adrian. I agree with you about the sky. This is a sky replacement. The original was a flat blue with faint white clouds. Wanted to provide a richer sky, but this one detracts from the "star" of the image. I was seeking the feedback you provided to help me return to more of the original sky. While blue is the complement of orange, this blue is too purple and the golden wheat is not orange enough. Thanks, again.

on September 5, 2014Yeah baby ;-) What a fantastic image. The subtle rolling of the "yellow" hill makes it look as if there is a gentle blanket on the field - and that throws the entire image into a question of size / perspective. The foreground stripes add to the send of cloth texture. The green diagonal lovely and uneven, but balanced by the two almost parallel lines running through the fields. I really, really like it.
The only quibble I can think of is the purple in the sky. I'm not a fan - but that is personal taste I suspect rather than any issue with the color? I don't know - maybe the sky is too muted compared to the stronger colors in the ground. Or lacks the interesting texture. I don't really know why, but I guess for me that part of the frame doesn't quite match exceptionally high standard of the rest of it ;-)
I'm lucky enough to have friends who let me stay at their ranch out there from time to time and I can say that this image truly evokes the feeling of the place. It is a fantastic image
