on March 2, 2014I could just about walk under this bridge, so it is not so high.
After the comments I tried a perfectly straight version which is very good, and I also sharpened it as Ricky suggested for an earlier photo of mine. Both I think made positive improvements. Thanks for the critiques, really helpful

on March 2, 2014I like not knowing what something is and just liking it for the image. Then, I like knowing what it is so I can have ideas for future concepts. Adrian, how far away is the ice from the tracks? It looks close, or.. you did a great job with depth of field.

on March 2, 2014really like this. did you consider a version with the horizontal being perfectly level, or do you like the slight skew? it has an interesting randomness, but if it's level, i might contrast with the cool patterns on the top, and make an 'artificial horizon'

on March 2, 2014This group and our shared project is truly fantastic. I'm enjoying looking and critiquing all of your photos. And I'm doing things I never thought I would - going out in minus 25 degree celsius to make photos when I could be reading a book and drinking tea by the fireplace!
There's an old converted rail bridge on the footpath a short walk from my house. This shot is looking down to the cracking ice on the river below. Processed in colorFX (another of those Google Nik collection softwares)
