Thank you all for the feedback!

I think the brightness issue is more my preconceived notion of abandoned. I guess I wanted something darker. I like the brightness of this image with the vignetting since it put the building in the spotlight.

The deep d.o.f. is very good indeed and gives a sense that the whole area has been abandoned, not just the building (might be interesting when you look at this in spring.......). The graffiti and its colour for me seems to say there have been visitors (like you) and I'm suggesting that the vignette emphasises that.....as ricky says....all for it.....

Agree with Adrian -- can't quite explain why, but I do like the brightness. Seems to make the image more ominous. And thanks explaining the post-processing.

Michelle - I'm not sure I agree about the brightness. This totally feels abandoned, and using the foreground and dramatic sky make this very bleak to me. So I'm all for this!

Really eye-catching! I love the "painted" effect. I have spent five minutes trying to explain to myself why I do like the brightness of the abandoned building - I find it hard to say. Maybe just because of the spookiness of RIcky's that I was just looking at ;-) In any case, a lovely, gentle touch.

Gerald and I have driven by this building many time but have never stopped until yesterday. We parked along the road, having left my 70-200 mm lens at home, I took my chances and walked in knee deep snow to capture this image. For post-processing, I increased the saturation and luminance in Lightroom then in Photoshop used the Nik Software - HDR Efex - Tone Mapping as well as Photoshop's shadow/Highlight. I find the image's tones a little bright to suit this weeks themes. Thoughts?
