Love this shot Michelle. I tool something similar when I first touched a film camera in high school and it remains one of my favorite photos today. Great depth and texture here.

This is excellent - my first though, before reading your post, was - yay, it's all in focus - front to back - excellent! and I like the composition. congrats

… i also think it's cool that you have a place where you can find interesting subjects indoors! i was going to say that i bet you shot this at the same place as last time ;)

i really like that everything is focus here. it shows off the wood beautifully. i do like the rim on the left edge. just for comparison, i also wonder it would look like with another composition more to the right, eliminating the rim and completing the dome of the hub. but i def do like this. btw, how large is the wheel and how close did you get. (wonder as you mentioned macro lens)
and thanks a lot for sharing the focus-stacking article, michelle!!!

We return to the museum where we shot last week. Thank goodness, the weather was more conducive for shooting the week.

As a final image, I wanted to have the entire wheel in focus. Using my macro lens; I photographed 8 images and changed the focus point in between each. In post, I stacked the images. Here is a link where you can read up on this technique.
