Well - I'm frustrated because I wrote something (long) and it didn't post. The short of it - I liked it.

I like the structure of this - a great concept for Still Life. The pink at the top enhances the pink in the pea!+$% feather compartment. One thing I notice in this is the lens distortion on the top edge at the hinge and lid. That can be corrected in photoshop so it doesn't bow. It's the only thing that drew my eye that I wish were different - but that's being very picky.

Hi Don: Just between you and me that is a stone I found in New Zealand on a black stone beach. It looks just like a lima bean. In that compartment is a holly hock seed pod, rose hips, "lima Bean" , cosmos seed pod and the pod from a North Carolina bush called Near to My Heart.

The colors in the box work very well together! is that a large lima bean in the lower left corner ? Good job on the crop

I collect all sorts of botanica and keep my finding in the studio for inspiration. My father did the same. He used his cigar boxes to keep his treasures sorted. This is one of Dad's cigar boxes that I now use. I found this one easy to compose but hard to crop as the box is a bit crooked. I purposely left the red band of the lid at the top to indicate it is a hinged box.
