That little leaf is the loneliest leaf in the world! I like this shot because of the courve which leads the viwer into the photograph and to the top. Very good!

Shudder - this brings back memories of running track intervals! Though I must say I always felt the 8 was the loneliest number on the track ;-) Very nicely captured, with great texture of the rubberized track, and the leaf adds a double meaning. While I really like the track I do find the (fake) green infield and the sky to be a bit distracting and wonder about perhaps a crop without the sky with the tracks running off the top of the frame, or perhaps in black and white to reduce the influence of the green astroturf and the bright sky. I wonder how fast I could run 400m these days... Oh - and that actually reminds me of how lonely it is to be running intervals by myself ... and the loneliness of the long distance runner. It all comes to me the longer I study the image ;0-)

I like the composition. Obviously, "1" is the focus, but the lines draw me into the image. The trees in the distance and the sky add interest without drawing too much attention.

Grant - I like the lines - and the concept. The single leaf is an appropriate addition. I like that the image is sharp front to back.
