The Palouse, Eastern Washington State, Steptoe Butte State Park. This past August I was in the Palouse for wheat harvest. Magnificent! Seeing rain showers developing near sunset, I headed for Steptoe Butte. At 3,600 feet and with a 360 panoramic view, I could see rain all around me. Wind and rain pelted me for about 30 minutes and then moved on. The wind was so strong I could no longer hold my camera. I pulled out my iPhone and braced myself against a building as I took this photo of the clearing skies, sunset and the waxing crescent moon.
